4 ASSASSINS | FOUR HITMEN IN HONG KONG. TO MAKE ONE OF THEM PAY.

Cinemavixion Review

A stylish and dialogue-driven crime thriller, '4 Assassins' presents a compelling narrative centered around four hitmen convened in Hong Kong. The premise, reminiscent of 'Reservoir Dogs', unfolds over an elaborate meal where each assassin recounts their most notable exploits. This setup allows for deep dives into character, revealing secrets and escalating tensions as the evening progresses. While not an adrenaline-fueled action spectacle, the film excels through its character development, strong performances from Will Yun Lee and Miguel Ferrer, and sophisticated production design. Influenced by modern wuxia, it offers a tragic protagonist with formidable skills and a profound inner yearning. This underrated gem is a must-watch for those who appreciate character-rich stories with a violent, yet nuanced, backdrop.
