3RD NIGHT

Cinemavixion Review

Adam Graveley's directorial debut, "3rd Night," plunges viewers into the unsettling isolation of rural Western Australia. This kitchen sink horror film, released in 2017, masterfully crafts a nail-biting narrative centered on a young couple's dream farmhouse. Jesse McGinn and Robert Hartburn deliver compelling performances as their idyllic new life begins to unravel when their cat, Nook, disappears. This seemingly minor event triggers a cascade of chilling occurrences, as an unseen presence begins to stalk their every move, intent on shattering their aspirations and transforming their haven into a living nightmare. Graveley's feature skillfully explores the disintegration of a couple's relationship under extreme duress, culminating in horrific consequences as their deepest fears manifest. While the film garnered one award, its modest runtime of 72 minutes ensures a tightly wound, suspenseful experience that lingers long after the credits roll.
