305

Cinemavixion Review

In "305," a mockumentary that playfully subverts historical epics, directors Daniel Holechek and David Holechek present a low-stakes comedic take on the Battle of Thermopylae. The film centers on five decidedly unheroic Spartans tasked with guarding a goat path, a responsibility they handle with comical ineptitude. The narrative takes a sharp turn as their failures inadvertently lead to the demise of King Leonidas and his famed 300, forcing this hapless quintet into a desperate quest for redemption. Starring Tim Larson, Brandon Tyra, and David Leo, the film leans into its absurd premise, offering a lighthearted, if somewhat crude, exploration of incompetence under pressure. While not a critical darling, "305" provides a quirky, offbeat diversion for those seeking a departure from conventional war dramas.
