2036 ORIGIN UNKNOWN

Cinemavixion Review

In "2036 Origin Unknown," director Hasraf Dulull crafts a cerebral science fiction thriller that probes the anxieties of a technologically advancing world. Katee Sackhoff delivers a compelling performance as Mission Controller Mackenzie Wilson, anchoring the narrative with her determined portrayal of a woman grappling with both an interstellar mystery and a potential global conspiracy. The film skillfully blends elements of AI sentience and extraterrestrial discovery, creating a tense atmosphere as Mack and the artificial intelligence A.R.T.I. race against time to decipher an enigmatic Martian artifact. While the film may lean into familiar sci-fi tropes, its thoughtful exploration of humanity's place in a future dominated by technology, coupled with Sackhoff's strong presence, makes it a noteworthy entry for fans of intelligent speculative fiction.
