2012: ICE AGE

Cinemavixion Review

Travis Fort's '2012: Ice Age' plunges viewers into a chilling apocalyptic scenario where a volcanic eruption in Iceland triggers a catastrophic ice age engulfing North America. The film centers on a desperate family man's fight for survival against the relentless advance of nature's fury. While the premise offers a compelling disaster narrative, the film's execution, as suggested by its IMDb rating of 2.3, leans into the more schlocky aspects of the disaster genre. The performances, particularly from Patrick Labyorteaux, Julie McCullough, and Katie Wilson, navigate the urgent plot, attempting to ground the extraordinary events in relatable human emotion. Despite its B-movie sensibilities, '2012: Ice Age' provides a straightforward, tension-filled ride for those seeking a quick dose of end-of-the-world thrills and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming odds.
