1945: FROM THIS DAY

Cinemavixion Review

Rick Roberts' '1945: From This Day' plunges viewers into the harrowing final days of World War II, specifically within the treacherous landscape of Germany's Hürtgen Forest. The film masterfully depicts the physical and psychological toll on a beleaguered band of American paratroopers, whose struggle for survival is compounded by dwindling resources and internal strife. Roberts skillfully navigates the brutal realities of combat, showcasing how the bonds of brotherhood are tested under extreme duress. With strong performances from Tim Seyfert, Alexander Guiney, and Fergus Rees, the drama underscores the grim determination required to face not only an unseen enemy but also the erosion of trust among comrades. This is a stark portrayal of courage and fear in the face of overwhelming odds.
