1943 - GREEN GODDESS

Cinemavixion Review

D. Ross Lederman's "1943 - Green Goddess" presents a compelling wartime adventure, following three Americans whose journey to Cairo is dramatically rerouted to Iraq due to mechanical failure. Stranded and captured by an Arab chieftain, George, Tess, and Doug find themselves in a perilous situation far from their intended destination. The film masterfully builds tension as the protagonists navigate the treacherous landscape and the complex dynamics of their captivity. John Loder, Ruth Ford, and Warren Douglas deliver performances that anchor the narrative, portraying the characters' resilience and desperation with conviction. While the premise suggests a straightforward thriller, "Green Goddess" offers a nuanced exploration of survival and cultural encounters under duress, making it a noteworthy, if lesser-known, piece of cinematic history from 1943.
