Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the grim realities of the First World War, specifically focusing on the pivotal year of 1917. It highlights the immense human cost, with millions already lost by 1916, and questions the strategic decisions that led ordinary men to continue sacrificing their lives. The narrative explores the desperation of the Axis powers, particularly Germany, as they faced potential failure and the innovative, yet brutal, methods employed by their commanders. Through the lens of 'The Great War In Numbers,' the film examines the sheer scale of the conflict – the vast quantities of ammunition, weaponry, aircraft, and ships deployed – underscoring the tragic calculus of a war fought by generals who deemed no cost too high. It's a stark reminder of the industrial-scale devastation and the profound impact on individual lives during this unprecedented global conflict.
