1915: LEGEND OF THE GURKHAS

Cinemavixion Review

"1915: Legend of The Gurkhas" emerges as a poignant psychological war drama, skillfully helmed by Pradeep Shahi. Released in 2023, this film delves into the harrowing experiences of World War I through the eyes of Rifleman Kulbir Thapa, portrayed with notable depth by Olly Bassi. The narrative, inspired by true events, charts Thapa's transformation from an untested recruit into a soldier whose bravery etches his name into the annals of the legendary Gurkha warriors. The film's strength lies in its intimate portrayal of the psychological toll of war, offering a stark contrast to more action-centric war epics. While the external data suggests a runtime of 72 minutes and a cast including Barnaby Chambers and Jack Cronin, the core story of courage and resilience against overwhelming odds remains the central focus. It's a compelling watch that honors the sacrifices of soldiers and the enduring spirit of the Gurkhas, making it a noteworthy addition to the war drama genre.
