Cinemavixion Review

Dr. Janina Ramirez delves into the tumultuous period of 1415-1453, a time marked by the Hundred Years' War and the English claim to the French throne under Henry V. The narrative powerfully centers on Joan of Arc, an extraordinary figure who emerged from humble, illiterate origins to become a potent symbol of French resistance. Ramirez masterfully explores how this young woman's conviction and leadership challenged the established order, ultimately shaping the course of French history. The documentary illuminates the profound impact of this era, often described as the longest and bloodiest divorce in history, offering a compelling look at a pivotal moment of national identity and defiance.
