Dorothy Sebastian

Dorothy Sebastian carved a niche in Hollywood during the silent and early sound eras, often portraying complex "other women" and vamps with a distinctive flair. She demonstrated versatility in films such as "A Woman of Affairs" and achieved prominence alongside stars like Joan Crawford in "Our Dancing Daughters" and Buster Keaton in "Spite Marriage." Despite... more early promise and an MGM contract, Sebastian's career saw a shift towards supporting roles in later productions, including "The Women" and "Reap the Wild Wind," after her initial studio deal concluded. Her presence added a memorable, if sometimes unconventional, energy to the cinematic landscape of her time. less
